Frequently asked questions
Can I upload converted images to WordPress?
WordPress supports JPG, PNG and WebP uploads. AVIF support depends on your WordPress version and host. BMP, ICO and TIFF may need special handling; use WebP or JPG for ordinary page photos.
Will WebP always be smaller than JPG or PNG?
No. It depends on the original image and chosen quality. Compare the sizes shown after conversion.
Are my images uploaded to this website?
No. Conversion happens locally in your browser. Your images are not sent to this site.
Which image types can I convert?
You can select any image your browser can decode, including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG and AVIF. HEIC, PSD and TIFF may fail in some browsers. You can export JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF (when supported), BMP, ICO and TIFF. Animated images become a still image. EPS, PS, PSD, ODD and ICNS export are not available in this browser tool.
Will converting images improve search rankings?
No. Smaller images may help pages load faster, but ranking depends on many other factors. Add useful image alt text and use images that serve your page.
